Indianapolis Zoo Cheetah Exhibit
Construction of a new Cheetah exhibit including animal holding facility and site structures, multiple viewing shelters, bridge and interpretive shelters, fencing and coordination of plant material installation. Scope also included the design and construction of Shotcrete site features installed to look like native rock formations. A one-of-a-kind “Cheetah: Race for Survival” feature lets visitors match their speed against cheetahs’. The exhibit also included netted enclosures built for Bat-eared Foxes and Yellow Hornbills that share the African Plains Biome with the cheetahs. All work was performed with minimal impact to daily zoo operations while maintaining the health and safety of animals in adjacent exhibits.
