Al began his career at Wurster Construction in June 1986, having worked in all facets of the company. He became the 4th President in 1998 taking over from his father, Fred. Al is client-driven, focusing on clients who value a relationship versus a transaction. Al is actively involved in several nonprofit boards including The 500 Festival and Sigma Nu Fraternity.
Max joined the firm in 2019 after obtaining his Registered Architect License. He brings the fourth generation of Wurster to the family business. His primary responsibilities as Chief Operating Officer include overseeing daily operations of the company, our safety program, client relations, and carrying out the company’s vision. As a Certified Healthcare Constructor, he has a passion for the Healthcare field – patients, visitors, employees, and believes all those that enter the healthcare system deserve a thoughtful environment that is tailored to their very stressful circumstances. This philosophy extends past the healthcare market – it is the way Wurster conducts all of its business enacting our slogan “Built for Life”. Max and his wife have one little girl that keeps life entertaining. They enjoy spending time together with family and friends.
Jeremy brings 25 years of estimating experience to Wurster Construction which includes, working relationships with many Central Indiana trade contractors and suppliers. Jeremy effectively applies his expertise on construction means and methods, as well as cost histories and the budgeting and estimating phases while remaining close to the project until completion.
Erwin brings 15 years of experience to ensuring the level of administration, which is important to all facets of the project. Erwin offers strong support for our project management team, developing a thorough understanding of the many details that keep a large construction project moving. His understanding of the project specifications, material submittals, scheduling, and logistics, allows Erwin to bring organization and administration to the project team.
Joe has over 19 years of experience in the construction industry with extensive retail, banking and large, complex healthcare projects. He began his career as a Project Engineer and Construction Administrator and evolved into one of Wurster’s most capable Project Managers. Joe fosters an environment of teamwork and ensures that strategy is clearly defined while overseeing performance and maintaining morale. Joe’s strong communication and client service skills enhance Wurster’s capability to deliver on our promise to our clients.
Ben possesses a strong knowledge of the details that keep a large construction project moving. His participation with a variety of projects in a wide range of sizes endows him with the unique perspective that only “hands on” experience can bring. Ben’s areas of expertise include all stages of construction administration and project documentation including project start-up, contracts, control documents, schedule, materials coordination, and archive records for closeout.
Joe offers our clients 25 years of experience in the construction industry and he has become very valuable in managing Wurster’s largest client. Joe has spent his entire 22-year tenure with Wurster in healthcare and works diligently with a significant number of renovation, re-use and capital within facilities. Joe’s demeanors works very well with the in-house Facilities Departments and operates effectively as an extension of their staff.
Jim has over 37 years of experience in the construction industry with a variety of projects including considerable time spent on large projects including K-12 schools, Colleges & Universities, parking garages, religious facilities, senior living and water treatment facilities. Expertise includes efficiently managing projects, scheduling, estimating, project accounting and working with Owners to complete quality construction projects with teamwork and open communication being the primary focus.
Will’s role at IU Health’s University and Riley Hospitals into involves assisting the Facilities Departments, individual user groups and the Design and Construction team to plan, develop and complete projects in the occupied health care environment. Will has also worked with the Infection Prevention team and Safety Management Group to maintain compliance with IU Health policies and practices.
Jim’s is routinely involved from the beginning of the design phases providing multiple estimates in developing our client’s project construction budget. Jim remains close to the project, coordinating until completion. His past work with Timberline Software and other software programs gives him the advantage to help develop accountability for all of our clients to foster our “open book” approach with every estimate.
Chris offers 25 years of supporting a project management team and she is tasked with developing a thorough understanding of the many details that keep a large construction project moving. Her participation with understanding the project specifications, material submittals, scheduling, and logistics, prepares her with the unique perspective that “digging into the details” can bring.
David brings 25+ years of construction experience. Over his tenure as a Superintendent, he has constructed a diverse resume of successful projects in the areas of education, worship, retail, industrial, food services, health care, commercial, petroleum, multifamily, senior living, recreational and pre-engineered buildings.
Tony began his construction career over 39 years ago. He joined Wurster Construction over 15 years ago as a Project Superintendent overseeing the healthcare projects at IU Health. Tony has developed to become a “favorite” amongst our clients. Tony enhances each project to ensure that staff and subcontractors assigned to the site produce the quality craftsmanship that Wurster and our clients expect—while doing so in a safe and timely manner. Tony is keen on keeping subcontractors on task, with good coordination, so the next trade contractor can step in and complete their portion of the work immediately.
Tim grew up around his grandfather’s construction company. He believes that is what started him out with the knowledge and the drive to succeed in all phases of the construction business. Tim pays close attention to the quality of work performed and takes pride in the finished product.
Rick began his career as a laborer right out of high school in 1986. When he began working for Wurster as a carpenter in 1998, he was eager to learn more. After completing the Carpenter Apprenticeship program through ABC (Associated Builders and Contractors) of Indiana, he was promoted to Assistant Superintendent and has since been involved in many projects at Wurster, including renovation, demolition and new construction.
Michael Redd is a results-oriented Project Superintendent, with over 34 years of diverse, and proven, experience concerning all phases of construction management. Mike acts as one of our “site-based” Superintendent’s for IU Health, providing project supervision at Methodist, Riley and University Hospitals. His 17-year tenure has been exclusively in healthcare, which includes many renovations, maintenance, compliance, and new construction projects.
As a project Superintendent, Mike possess a reputation for effectively promoting the development of outside contractors and consultants, with the ability to develop and motivate highly effective teams. His responsibilities include managing entire project sites, ensuring all requisite components are completed through Inspecting the work in progress to maintain compliance with the construction documents and specifications while ensuring quality and safety standards.
