HVAC & Surgical Suites Updates
Good Samaritan Hospital selected Wurster Construction to function as the general contractor on their surgery center HVAC replacement project. The project included demolition of existing air handlers and placement of two new AHUs. Air handling unit 10 was split into six individual modules that were lifted into place blind by a crane situated at the main entrance to the hospital. The middle two modules were an owner provided prefabricated vestibule that connects the air handlers on either side of the vestibule to the ductwork and utilities coming up through the roof. This solution saved weeks of on site installation of multiple trades that would have needed to access a small space all at the same time.
