1840 N. Meridian Medical Office Building
Over the course of 8 months, our construction team collaborated with Cripe architects and Innovcare, a healthcare developer, to undertake an exterior remodel of the 40,000 square foot building at 1840 N. Meridian St., in downtown Indianapolis. We began with the demolition of all four floors, including the basement, and removal of the existing exterior skin. Upgrades included new veneer siding, upgraded roofing and mechanical systems, and the restoration of deteriorated exterior concrete columns. Safety was paramount throughout the project, with strict fall protection measures in place. The revitalization of this once-vacant structure, which had been uninhabited for seven years following its use by Indianapolis Public Schools, not only enhanced the aesthetic appeal of downtown Indianapolis but also contributed to its economic growth. By re-purposing this building as an outpatient medical office facility, in collaboration with Innovcare, we’ve addressed critical community needs while breathing new life into the urban landscape, setting a precedent for sustainable development and community revitalization efforts.
