Sustainability
Sustainability and Green Building practices get at the “root” of Wurster Construction has always done – be good stewards of the resources with which we’ve been entrusted, internally and externally. For Wurster that means more than racking up large quantities of LEED® Certified projects, it means discussing with our clients the benefits of green building and how they can be incorporated within your budget. It means listening to our clients and evaluating strategies for a cost-effective, energy-efficient construction that will save money over the life-cycle of your building.
Wurster’s commitment has also translated into educational milestones:
- Our administrative staff maintain an internal recycling program for paper and electronics.
- Wurster employees helped found the Indiana Chapter of ABC’s Green Building Committee to educate merit shop contractors about LEED® and Green Building processes.
- Our employees were key in generating the Associated Builders and Contractors Green Building Toolbox Talk program to educate site personnel about their impact on LEED® projects and certifications, which has been implemented nationally.
- We have accredited over a half-dozen LEED AP professionals and maintain a LEED® training program for any employee who wants to be accredited.
Our LEED® AP professionals stand ready to answers your questions and advise you on the best way forward for your project.
